2023 Toyota Sequoia price and specs

The 2023 Toyota sequoia is a full-size three-row SUV based on the platform of the tundra pickup truck. that doesn’t change with the new generation arriving for the 2023 model year the rest does. The new model is way more modern than the outdated second-generation sequoia it replaces which has been around for more than a decade.

Toyota Sequoia exterior Styling

On the exterior, The broad strokes and details of the new Toyota sequoia’s look are familiar to the new Toyota Tundra. This starts from the general shape of the grill to the T-shaped headlamps with their integrated intakes. The sequoia fascia features a more conservative grille treatment that avoids the elements of the tundra’s design. This is in comparison to the way the pickup screw flows over the front bumper and the silver handlebar stash it creates.

For upper specs, Toyota offers the new sequoia in five grades SR5, limited, platinum, the new Hilux capstone, and the off-road high-performance TRD pro. SR5 and limited grade SUVs can be fitted with the TRD off-road package including a select-able locking rear differential, multi-terrain select, downhill assist control, crawl control, and TRD tuned. Bilstein monotube shocks and 18-inch alloy wheels TRD pro add those goodies from the TRD off-road. A skip plate and upgrades to fox internal bypass shocks capstone will be similar to the tundra with exclusive black and white leather seating open pour wooden 22-inch chrome wheels.

2023 Toyota Sequoia Interior

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia interior continues to offer plenty of space in this new generation. With the third row of seats as standard equipment, a second-row bench setup with an eight-passenger capacity is standard with optional second-row captain’s chairs reducing the number of seats to seven. Having a wide range of trim levels available, the interior trimmings features the gamut from cloth to leather upholstery and varying levels of wood and chrome trim.

As you move up the price ladder, higher trim levels offer features including heated and cooled second-row seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium stereo system. The old sequoia’s touchscreen setup has been replaced by a large 14.0-inch touchscreen found in the tundra. This infotainment touchscreen comes standard on all but the base sr5. It also runs on Toyota’s latest infotainment software which offers all manner of smartphone mirroring and other connectivity options including a wi-fi hotspot and various music streaming options.

Engine, power, and transmission

Under the hood, the 2023 Toyota Sequoia comes standard with the force max hybrid powertrain that’s optional in the 2022 Toyota tundra pickup. This power train is comprised of a twin-turbo 3.4-litre v6 engine and an electric motor that produces a total of 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. The tundra’s 10-speed automatic transmission carries over to the Sequoia SUV as well the rear-wheel drive is standard. Four-wheel drive is optional on most versions and standard on the off-road-oriented TRD Pro model. The TRD Pro also comes with off-road equipment such as upgraded shocks a front skid plate a locking rear differential and different 18-inch wheels.

Safety and driver assistance features

On the safety and driver assistance features, all 2023 Sequoia models will come standard with the Toyota safety sense 2.5 driver aid suite. This includes dynamic radar cruise control, lane tracing assist, automatic high beams, and an advanced pre-collision braking system with pedestrian and cyclist detection. Also, detection of oncoming traffic during left-hand turns, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking speed automatic braking features round out the sequoia’s safety suite.

The starting price for the 2023 Toyota Sequoia is $58,300 plus a $1,495 destination fee. The entry-level 44 Limited starts at $67,700, while the luxurious Capstone 44 model costs $78,300.
