The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class has finally been unveiled and It features a new design for the entire lineup, including the Maybach and AMG variants. it features new refreshed styling both interior and exterior and more powerful engines for all trims. The GLS class plays in the same league with the likes of BMWX7 and Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
Mercedes-Benz GLS Exterior
On the exterior, The standard GLS receives minor styling changes. The grille’s four louvers are finished in Silver Shadow. Air inlet grilles with high-gloss black surrounds are featured on the bumper. On the rear end, The taillights feature a signet motif of three horizontal blocks. Twilight Blue Metallic and Manufaktur Alpine Grey Non-Metallic are the new paint options.
Mercedes-Benz GLS Interior
In the GLS 450, Mercedes offers some new upholstery options. Catalana Beige and Bahia Brown leather are now available. High-Gloss Brown Linden Wood and Manufaktur Piano Lacquer Flowing Lines are two trim options.
The GLS580 4MATIC is available with an Off-Road Engineering Package as an option. It gains 1.2 inches of ground clearance and gains a front skid plate.
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 receives minor upgrades. It now includes ambient lighting, which consists of an animated projection of the brand logo. The seat upholstery is perforated and diamond-quilted. A new option is a set of 23-inch forged wheels.
Small changes have also been made to the Mercedes-AMG GLS63. It receives light projectors, which project an AMG-specific animation onto the ground. A software update modifies the roll stabilization and air suspension settings.
Inside are new Nappa leather upholstery options in Bahia Brown/Black and Macchiato Beige/Black. The sporty model now includes a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, and adaptive high beams as standard equipment.
Infotainment and features
The MBUX infotainment system gets new display options on the inside. Classic, Sporty, and Discreet are the three graphic styles. There are also three modes: navigation, assistance, and service. Drivers can also choose from seven different color schemes. The Off-Road mode displays the vehicle’s tilt angles, compass, and a camera view from underneath the front bumper.
Engine, Power, and Transmission
For 2024 the Mercedes GLS is available with two engine options, a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, and a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. the base model, the GLS 450 is powered by a 3.0-liter v6 engine that delivers 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
Moving to the GLS 580, under the hood the V8 engine delivers 510 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. The same engine powers the Maybach GLS 600 delivering 550 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. The same engine also powers the high-performance Mercedes AMG GLS63 and it powers a stunning total of 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of Torque.
When claiming 0-60, the Mercedes GLS 450 completes it in 5.8 seconds while the GLS580 achieves it in 4.7 seconds. The Maybach GLS 600 and AMG GLS 63 sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.7 and 4.1 seconds respectively.
Mercedes-Benz GLS Pricing
Unfortunately, the 2024 Mercedes Benz GLS class price has not yet been unveiled despite it coming to the dealerships late this year. However, we expect the price to start at around $85000 all the way to 175,000 for the topmost model trims.
