Despite being a compact crossover, the Subaru forester’s success has been brought by its practicality and ability to go anywhere due to its ground clearance. the 2022 Subaru forester was recently revealed which appeared to have gone a styling makeover. Not only that, the Subaru forester added a new model trim in the lineup called the wilderness that features a higher ground clearance and a rugged appearance package. the forester rivals other compact crossovers like the Honda CR-V and Toyota Rav 4.
Engine, power, transmission
Despite the 2022 Subaru forester receiving better styling, it didn’t get any engine updates. It is powered by the same 2.5 litres four-cylinder boxer petrol engine. This engine produces 182 hp and 239 NM of torque. All this power is delivered to all four wheels via a continuously variable transmission system
For the hybrid models in the line-up, they are powered by a pair of a 2.0-litre petrol engine that delivers 110 kW and 196 Nm and a 12kW/66Nm electric motor, a lithium-ion battery pack. They are also all-wheel drive and have a CVT.
On a combined cycle, the 2022 Subaru forester powered by petrol only consumes 7.4 litres per 100 kilometres. The hybrid models consume less fuel which is 6.7 litres per 100 kilometres and they have a 43l tank while the petrol-powered have a 63-litre fuel tank.

Interior and infotainment features
Stepping inside, new optional gesture controls for the climate control system and a panoramic sunroof come as standard features for the base trim. All models come with a standard touchscreen display. However, the base model has a 6.5-inch display while the higher trims feature an 8.0-inch unit. Apple car-play and android auto are also standard in the infotainment system.
Upgraded camera sensors for The EyeSight suite of driver-assistance features is also available. However, all 2022 Subaru forester models feature a torque-vectoring system, Subaru’s SI-Drive driving mode selector, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and an auto start-stop feature for the four-cylinder engine.
Talking of the cargo space, 498L is all you get in petrol models while 509L is in the Hybrid. However, with the rear seats down the cargo space is 1779L in the Hybrid and 1768L in all regular petrol models.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
In 2022 the Subaru forester received new upgrade camera sensors for the eyesight suite for drivers assistance which is standard. other key features include automated emergency braking, Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control.
