For 2023, KIA has updated its globally popular SUV, the KIA Telluride. The SUV now has a slightly revised exterior design, improved driving assistance features, new technology, and two new ruggedly styled trim levels. The KIA Telluride is one of our favourite three-row SUVs thanks to its good looks, spacious cabin, and a long list of tech features. KIA has now added more off-road credibility to its mid-sized SUV, as well as a few other upgrades for the 2023 model year, which will debut at the New York Auto Show.
Kia Telluride model Trims
The Kia Telluride 2023 gains new x-line and x-pro trims. The x-line has a 0.4-inch higher ride height, which results in marginally better approach and departure angles. It also has new roof rails, distinctive 20-inch wheels, and revised traction control settings. A towing mode is also available, which modifies the transmission’s shift logic and incorporates trailer sway control.
The 2023 Kia telluride x-pro offers a bit more off-road capability, thanks to its smaller 18-inch wheels and continental all-terrain tires. in addition to the aforementioned increased ground clearance, the x-pro also has a slightly higher tow rating of 5500 pounds versus 5000 in the standard telluride.
Kia Telluride Exterior
On the exterior, KIA replaces its headlight’s orange rectangle lighting element with twin spotlights and vertical bars. The lower fascia is redesigned and the leading edge of the hood loses its telluride lettering. The rear appearance and lower bodyside moulding have also been tweaked.

Stepping Inside, a new digital instrument cluster is the first change to note. It features a larger 12.3 inches infotainment screen. The head-up display also is larger and can show more info. Fortunately, KIA has retained much of the centre stack which still features physical buttons. These buttons operate much of the climate control system and quickly access major touchscreen functions. Also retained, are knobs for volume tuning and temperature as well as a real shift lever. A new steering wheel and air vents haven’t been left out in the upgrade.
Engine, power and Transmission
Under the hood, the 2023 KIA telluride uses the familiar Kia’s 3.8 litres naturally aspirated v6 engine. This engine delivers 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission comes as standard. However, buyers can choose between front and all-wheel-drive configurations.
Safety and driver assistance features
Adaptive cruise control with lane-change capability is now available as an upgrade to the basic highway driving assistance semi-autonomous adaptive cruise control, or HDA2. Moreover, the basic speed limit recognition system has the ability to automatically change the cruise control set speed when the speed limit changes.
Also, when making a left turn, the front collision avoidance system now keeps an eye out for incoming traffic. Additionally, it has the ability to break and steer if it notices an approaching car while performing a two-lane pass or break to escape cross traffic at a crossroads. Furthermore, it is more adept at keeping an eye out for cyclists and pedestrians. With the advent of the internet, there are now a number of websites that offer free online courses.
