The Toyota Prado has become a popular 4×4 Toyota SUV over time. It was originally designed for the mid-size SUV market. Surprisingly, the Prado was a huge success but not in the markets that Toyota was targeting. The Prado is available in four models; the GX, GXL, VX, and the high-end Kakadu.
As per the reports, The Toyota automaker is expected to launch a new land cruiser Prado in its markets after the land cruiser 300 series launch. The new Prado will be built under the Toyotas new body frame, the TNGA platform. it is also anticipated to borrow a lot from the current Prado such as having a large frame chassis, rigid axles, and 4WD off-road capabilities.
In terms of size and dimensions, the Toyota land cruiser Prado measures 4825mm in length, 1885mm wide, and 1830mm tall and have a wheelbase of 2790mm.
Under the hood, you will find a 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine that powers the current land cruiser, Prado. however, the next-generation Toyota land cruiser Prado is said to be powered by an updated version of the 2.8-liter diesel engine.
This is expected to improve fuel efficiency without altering the amount of power and torque. The four-cylinder delivers an output of 204 horsepower and 500 NM of torque. This is the same power output that the updated engine is said to produce. Additionally, the current land cruiser Prado claims 0- 100KM/H in just 9.9 seconds. The fuel consumption in the current Toyota land cruiser model is listed at 7.9 liters per 100 kilometers combined.
However, it is reported that is also working on a 2.4-liter four-cylinder petrol hybrid engine. This engine won’t be available in the time the new Prado launches but it is expected to launch in 2023 which is as per the reports.
The cost of a Toyota Landcruiser Prado in 2022 ranges from $69,888 for the SUV Land cruiser Prado GX in its base trim to $116,990 for the Kakadu model, which is the top-of-the-line. A diesel version of the Toyota Landcruiser Prado 2022 is available.
