The Nissan Pathfinder lineup has received the Rock Creek treatment for 2023. Having progressed from the previous generation’s three-row crossover to the most recent model, which debuted last year. As previously stated, the Pathfinder Rock Creek adds an outdoorsy visual flair to the SUV. This time, however, Nissan is adding more hardware to back up the off-road image.
It’s no surprise, given the car’s marketing pitch, that the Rock Creek has an off-road-tuned suspension that sits 16 millimetres higher off the ground. This is complemented by all-terrain tires and 18-inch bead-lock style alloy wheels. A surround-view camera system with an off-road mode is also available.
Exterior Styling
The front fascia of the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder rock creek is designed to be more rugged. Starting with bronze highlights around the lower air intake, a black v-motion grille with a honeycomb insert, and silver trim around the ports on the grille’s top edge, this is a bold statement. A tubular roof rack capable of carrying 100 kilograms of gear is standard, as is a tow hitch receiver and harness. The Rock Creek is available in eight single colours and four two-tone colour schemes.
Interior styling & features
Inside the cabin. The seats are covered in a mix of leatherette and fabric. The rock creek logo is embroidered on the seats and centre console armrest. while orange contrast stitching is used on the seats steering wheel instrument panel door panels and centre console.
Engine, Power and Transmission
Nissan’s 3.5-litre V6 engine is housed under the hood and is coupled to a 9-speed automated transmission. To get a few more horsepower out of the outdated power plant, Nissan has updated the fuel programming. The pathfinder will have 295 hp and 270 lb of torque. Compared to the predecessor, which had 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, this is a higher power. All-wheel drive is also a standard feature of the pathfinder’s rock creek trim.
Nissan made a tow hitch receiver and wiring harness standard. Also added, is a sizeable tubular roof rack that can hold up to 220 pounds. However, that’s not enough for rooftop camping but the increase from the standard pathfinder’s 165-pound limit is enough for plenty of extra weekend gear. Nissan’s intelligent around-view monitor an array of cameras that lets you look around the outside comes as standard.
