Lucid is preparing a third model, and in an incredibly candid teaser image, the firm revealed our first glimpse at a brand-new midsize platform. With a starting price of less than $50,000, this SUV will fall below the Air and Gravity in Lucid’s current portfolio, bringing the brand closer to mainstream buyers.
With its rakish greenhouse squeezed toward the rear fender arches, the new crossover has a sportier appearance than the Gravity. In the front, a scalloped hood breaks from the styling ethos of the Air and Gravity by visually corralling the LUCID script on the hood’s leading edge. The remainder of the design, we anticipate, will be in line with other crossovers.
According to Lucid, the new vehicle will go into production in 2026. To provide an electric SUV with a range comparable to that of its rivals, the manufacturer intends to leverage its advantages in cost and efficiency while utilizing a smaller battery.
In November of last year, the carmaker revealed the Gravity, a huge luxury SUV with a starting price under $80,000 and a range of up to 440 miles on a single charge in the most expensive models. Its top speed is sixty miles per hour, and it should be produced by the end of this year.
