Despite sharing all of its major sheet metal with the less expensive Nissan Armada, the 2023 Infiniti QX80 has been around for more than ten years and is difficult to distinguish from it. Despite these two flaws, it’s a respectable large luxury SUV with high-end features and stylish styling.
The Infiniti QX80 remains substantially unchanged for the 2023 model year, however, a number of new amenities are added. The lane departure system now delivers haptic feedback via the steering wheel, and the integration of Amazon Alexa provides QX80 occupants with a more familiar voice-command protocol.

The Infiniti is quiet and comfy on the inside, but the overall appearance hasn’t changed much since the ute’s 2011 QX56 introduction. Recent changes to the center stack allow for a contemporary touchscreen with more user-friendly controls, and the HVAC system also features a new arrangement with physical knobs for controlling the dual climate zones. Unfortunately, there aren’t any of the amenities that we typically find in luxury cars, like a panoramic sunroof, massaging seats, or a head-up display. However, the well-built, spacious cabin has a third row that is standard.
Infotainment and Tech Features
Infiniti updated the QX80’s infotainment system for the previous model year, ditching the outdated and reviled dual-screen design in favor of a considerably larger and more intuitive single 12.3-inch display. This model includes InTouch connectivity services as well as standard onboard navigation, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, the latter of which is now wirelessly accessible.
Amazon Alexa extends connectivity by performing voice commands as a common feature. Every QX80 comes standard with a 13-speaker Bose audio, wireless device charging, and a slew of charge ports, including four USB ports. The optional Theater kit includes an additional USB port as well as a 120-volt outlet.
The top-of-the-line Sensory trim has access to a rear-seat entertainment system with two 8.0-inch screens mounted to the back of the front seat headrests.
Engine, Power, and Transmission
Under the hood, The QX80 features a 5.6-liter V-8 engine that powers out 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. This power is distributed by a seven-speed automatic transmission to either rear- or all-wheel drive transmission.

In terms of towing capacity, The QX80 can tow 8500 pounds outweighing the Mercedes GLS by 800 pounds. It also accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds.

The 2023 Infiniti QX80 price starts at $72,700. The base Premium Select model costs $77,785, while the top Sensory trim costs $84,835. The QX80 is the most economical option in the full-size luxury SUV class, with a starting price that is significantly cheaper than the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, and Lexus LX.
