2024 Suzuki Jimny Prices and specs

The Suzuki Jimny is the continuance of a small 4×4 legend that has performed admirably for the past five decades. It’s not extremely big or comfy, but it does include most of the modern features you’d expect in a new car. It also has adequate safety features. This rustic little charmer, on the other hand, trades on its sweetness and tradition, and it exemplifies honest, basic motoring at a reasonable price. Off-road, it’s quite capable. In 2019, it was completely rebuilt from the bottom up. It now offers only one powertrain: Suzuki’s smart 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

Suzuki Jimny Exterior

The appearance of the Suzuki Jimny has undergone significant redesign up front. In comparison to its predecessor, the fascia of the new design is flatter. Although Suzuki brought back the circular headlights from some of its early models, the grille still features the vertical slats from the previous model. Overall, compared to the slightly curved third-generation edition, this new model’s body is boxier.

Either a set of LED projector headlamps or a set of reflector halogen headlights with foglights can be added to the front of the vehicle. These vintage-style lights are mounted in a distinctive grille that gives the vehicle personality. The rather small SUV has wider fender flares, which improve its presence and three-dimensionality. The rear bumper’s lower position for the rear taillights gives it a more functional appearance reminiscent of vintage jeeps.

The Jimny is available in a wide range of vibrant hues, however, its GL variations can only get Pearl Bluish Black 3 and Metallic Silky Silver. Solid Jungle Green, Solid Medium Gray, and White are the colours that are present in all of the top-tier GLX versions. A GLX model in the special two-tone Solid Kinetic Yellow, Metallic Brisk Blue, and Metallic Chiffon Ivory hues is a good choice for those seeking a vehicle with more eye-catching paint.

Suzuki Jimny Interior

Meanwhile, other well-deserved improvements were made to the interior. The dashboard design and in-cabin plastics are also much more admirable. For added convenience and safety, the steering wheel has been updated to include audio controls. However, rather than leather, seats continued to be made of fabric, which does a much better job of keeping occupants in place during off-roading body rolls.

Engine, power and transmission

It has a 1.5-litre K15B engine with 101 horsepower and 130 pound-feet of torque. There are two transmission choices: a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual. The GL trim comes with either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission, whereas the GLX only has a 4-speed automatic available.

The Suzuki Jimny’s suspension and chassis are designed for off-road use. The model, which is the fourth generation of its moniker, has two sets of three-link rigid axles up front and back with the JB75W chassis code. The highest trim level of the Jimny only weighs 1,110 kg, yet it still surpasses the 1000-kg threshold.

Infotainment and connectivity features

While the outside is vintage, the interior is contemporary with modern technologies. Suzuki has installed a nine-inch multimedia infotainment system, which also displays the backup camera and the clinometer. This system can be connected by USB, Bluetooth, and iPod connection software. Automatic LED headlights with manual leveller, cruise control, automatic air conditioning with a pollen filter, and a rear camera with parking sensors are all offered. All of the characteristics mentioned are included in the Jimny GLX.

Safety and driver assistance features

Dual front airbags, seatbelt reminders for the driver and passenger, and ISOFIX tethers are standard on the Suzuki Jimny. Side-impact door beams protect the cabin from external intrusions during an accident. The automobile has hill hold control, hill descent control, ABS with brake aid, and stability control as driver-support features. This package is supplemented with a backup camera for high variations that can be combined with a set of reverse proximity sensors.

Suzuki Jimny Price

The Suzuki Jimny is available in a variety of versions ranging from $26,990 to $31,490 for the 2022 SUV.
