The competition in the luxury subcompact SUV is getting tougher day by day. Not long ago when Lexus rolled out the 2022 Lexus NX in the game. Despite sharing the same chassis and power trains with the Toyota Rav 4, the new NX is completely new and its styling features a more aggressive look than its predecessor. A series of engine options also comes in the new Nx. It starts from two different petrol engines to two-hybrid power trains, where one is a plugin hybrid. Engine ,power and transmission
In comparison with the previous generation of the Lexus NX engine options, only two petrol engines were available. For 2022 the new generation comes with four powertrain options. It starts with the base model, the Lexus NX250 which is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine punches 203 hp which is 20 plus more power than in the previous generation.
Powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged engine is the Lexus NX350, with its power adding up to 275hp. Both engine options are mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission system. The base model NX 250 comes with either a front or all-wheel-drive system while for the NX350 an all-wheel-drive system comes as standard.
For 2022, two-hybrid powertrains are available in the Lexus NX family. The new hybrid model is the NX350h, it is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors. The combination in the hybrid powertrain results in 239 hp.
The fourth is the NX 450h+ powered by a 302 hp plugin hybrid powertrain used by the Rav 4 prime. Both hybrid options come with an all-wheel-drive system which is standard.
Interior and infortainment features
The 20200 Lexus Nx features a modern cabin full of quality and good looking materials. Plenty of passenger room is available however for the new NX provides a small cargo space than the previous model even with the back seats folded.
Talking of infotainment, the base models feature a 9.8-inch touch screen while the top range models pack a 14-inch. The infotainment system is available with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which are standard. the wireless smartphone charging pad is optional as is a head-up display. A 10-speaker stereo system is standard and comes with a free trial of Amazon Music; a 17-speaker Mark Levinson stereo system is optional on models equipped with the Premium or Luxury packages.
Other features include a panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats, an ambient interior lighting system with 64 different colour choices, and black open-pore wood trim.
