With the 2021 supra is the Toyota 86 worth going for?

Yes, it may be easy to make a choice when it comes to these two cars. The Toyota 86 is one great driver’s car when we look at every aspect. However, is the Toyota 86 worth purchasing with the new supra 2.0 now in the market?

It is not long ago when a 2021 supra was put against a 2020 Toyota 86 Hakone edition by the everyday driver. Based on their opinions let’s find out which car is of better value.

On the specification chart, the Hakone edition Toyota 86 hoods has a 2-litre four-cylinder engine that powers out 205hp and 211Nm of torque. What’s amazing about the 86 is that it is available with a six-speed manual transmission. Optionally, you can also get it with a six-speed automatic transmission and definitely as a motorhead remember it’s a rear-wheel drive.

On the other side, the 2021 Toyota supra 2.0 features a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. The supra’s four-pot cylinder powers out a smashing 255hp and 400Nm of torque. Unsurprisingly, the Toyota supra is only available with an 8-speed automatic transmission that moves the rear wheels. That’s, in fact, the boring part to all drivers who love the supra but love a stick shift. The supra can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 5.2 seconds. That’s not impressive considering it’s the entry-level model right?.

However, the Toyota supra 2.0 is much more powerful than the Toyota 86. Not only power, but it is also much more refined and features a luxurious interior. The supra has a cost which is a plus of around 16000 dollars of the 86. As a car enthusiast, you will admit that that’s a hefty price tag on the 2021 Toyota supra 2.0.
