The Toyota RAV4 is a compact SUV that has been in production for nearly three decades. Toyota released a hybrid version of the RAV4 in 2016, which provided more power and higher fuel economy. In 2022, the RAV4 hybrid received a number of updates, as well as the addition of an XSE trim level to the lineup. For 2022, the RAV 4 XSE prime plug-in hybrid adds vertical lighting components to the XSE hybrid model. The vehicle has a dynamic and powerful appearance thanks to the dual chrome-tipped exhaust mounted under the rear bumper. A rear spoiler and led taillights are available to complement the unusual exterior styling.

The cabin of the Toyota RAV4 hybrid is spacious and well-designed, with plenty of high-quality materials and sophisticated technology. Control buttons are easily accessible, and function and storage areas are available.
In lower trim levels, features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, an adjustable steering wheel, and a false floor in the cargo area are available. The majority of luxury features, such as heated front and rear seats, ambient interior lighting, and Soft-ex leather upholstery, are reserved for higher-end RAV 4 hybrid models.
In terms of cargo space, the hybrid RAV 4 is comparable to the gasoline-powered RAV4.
Engine, power and transmission
Under the hood, the Toyota RAV4 hybrid features a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine. Not only that, but two electric motors are also available to assist the engine where this combination makes 219 horsepower. For the RAV 4, all-wheel drive is standard across all model trims where one electric motor is set to power the rear wheel while the 2.5 and the second motor power the front wheels. All this is done via a continuously variable transmission system.
The RAV4 hybrid models can claim 0-60 mph in just 7.4 seconds compared to the gas models that do it in 8.4 seconds. In comparison to gasoline-powered engines, the Toyota RAV 4 hybrid is more efficient and quicker.
Infotainment and connectivity features
Toyota RAV4 hybrid LE, XLE, and SE models all have a 7-inch infotainment display. The XSE and Limited models come standard with an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, while the Prime models have options for 8.0-inch and 9.0-inch touchscreen displays.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, as does an onboard WiFi hotspot. On the XSE models, an 11-speaker JBL sound system is available as an option, while a six-speaker system is standard. The limited editions, on the other hand, come standard with an 11-speaker JBL stereo system.
Safety and Driver assistance features
Toyota includes a slew of safety and driver assistance technologies as standard on all RAV 4 models. The RAV4 hybrid comes standard with automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection. There’s also a lane departure warning with lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control as standard.

The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has a starting price of roughly $29,000, making it one of the most affordable hybrid SUVs on the market. The price of the high-end Limited trim rises to roughly $37,500.
