2023 Toyota Crown Kluger SUV Specs and prices

Did you know that Toyota’s Crown brand is among the oldest in the industry? It is currently in its 15th generation after being first produced in 1955. It appears that the Japanese carmaker will introduce the flagship Kluger, an SUV, to the range in 2022. The Crown Kluger is based on the Toyota Highlander, and the two SUVs share a similar exterior design. The crown Kluger can be distinguished from the highlander, nevertheless, by the crown symbol on the front.

Dimensions

The dimensions of the 2023 Toyota Crown SUV are 5015 millimetres long, 1930 millimetres wide, and 1750 millimetres tall. Moreover, it has a 150-millimetre wheelbase to distinguish itself from the Toyota highlander or Kluger.

Toyota Crown Kluger Exterior

The 2023 Toyota crown Kluger has an inverted hexagonal upper grille with the Toyota crown logo and three-eyed headlight graphics on the outside. Moreover, it has a striking trapezoidal lower grille with horizontal bars adorned with chrome, similar to the new Toyota Camry. The finished product is similar to the Highlander XSE, which made its debut in the US in March 2020. From the sharper grille with a distinctive insert to the front and side rocker mouldings with blacked-out accents and the 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, everything resembles the Toyota Highlander XSE.

Once inside, the interior design is recognizable and features two-tone red-black upholstery similar to the XSE model. The Toyota Crown Kluger is available with five or seven seats. Highlights include a head-up display, a pm 2.5 air filter, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and three-zone automatic climate control. Premium perforated leather and synthetic leather seat coverings are included with the 2022 Crown SUV.

Infotainment and connectivity features

The 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the Toyota Kluger Crown SUV features face recognition. You also get an 11-speaker JBL sophisticated surround sound system and Toyota’s Hello speech assistant.

Engine, power and Transmission

The 2022 Toyota Crown Kluger has a standard 2.5-litre hybrid engine under the hood. Its engine generates 238-newton meters of torque and 141 kilowatts of power. Depending on the design, either one or two electric motors assist the internal combustion engine. The front motor of the two-wheel-drive models generates 134 kW and 270 Nm of torque. With four-wheel-drive vehicles, a second electric motor turns the back wheels. This produces 121 Newton meters of torque and 40 kilowatts of power for the motor. 183 kilowatts are the system’s output, regardless of configuration. Each of the forty battery modules in the battery pack has six nickel-metal hydroxide cells.

Prices

The 2023 Toyota Kluger prices start at $43,780 for the base trim level SUV Kluger GX 2WD and go up from there. The Toyota Kluger 2022 is available as an SUV.
