Recently, ford revealed its next-generation 2022 ford ranger pickup truck. It features a bold styling from the exterior, modern tech features and a choice of diesel engines that includes a new V6 power train.
The new 2022 ford ranger will be offered in five model trim levels, this includes; the ford XL, XLS, XLT, sport and the Wildtrak grades. This will be available in single, super and dual-cab pick-up truck styling. However, the ranger raptor is set to join the line-up soon while the ranger sport is set to become a full-time offer from the debut.
New ford ranger styling
The new ranger exterior styling gives it a bold look. This starts from the front end where it features a new grille, and c – shaped LED headlights and wheel arches. The rear end packs taillights with the same styling as the headlights while for the first time matrix LED will be available.
The wheelbase has also been extended by 50mm to increase more space for the three passengers at the back. Not only that but the rear end has also been increased by 50 mm giving the ford ranger a big truck bed that can fit full building plywood.
The appearance (especially at the front) matches Ford’s current North American F-Series full-sized truck philosophy. But the wider stance achieved by the pushed-out tracks results in a shorter front overhang and much improved off-road and on-road performance.
New ford ranger engine and transmission
The new ford ranger will be offered with three engine options. A single turbo and twin-turbo 2.0-litre diesel inline-four engines and a 3.0-litre turbo V6 diesel engine. The 2.0-litre single turbo diesel unit will be paired with either a six-speed automatic or manual transmission system. For the 2.0 twin-turbo power train, it comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. However, the engine’s power output figures haven’t been revealed yet, which we will update you once they are released. Also available is a choice of two four-wheel-drive systems, an electronic shift-on-the-fly system, or a full-time 4×4 system.
New 2022 ford ranger interior and infotainment features
The new ranger’s interior looks completely transformed luxurious, and full of modern tech features compared to the outgoing models. Plenty of space for the passengers is well taken care of by the new ranger. the cabin is made of quality soft-touch materials and the steering wheel also looks refreshed. Lying behind the steering wheel is a fully digital instrument cluster. A portrait styled touch screen display is well fitted at the centre of the dash which is either 10.1 inches or 12 inches depending on the model. The infotainment system runs via the new fords sync 4 operating system
