Stepping inside, the Subaru WRX has a spacious and sporty cabin full of modern tech features and quality materials . the dashboard features an 11.6-inch touch screen, dual-zone temperature settings control buttons and volume knobs. A flat bottomed steering wheel and power-adjustable seats are also available. the wrx badging is also available with red stitching increasing the ambience in the cabin. Standard features include; ISOFIX child seat anchor points in the outboard seats, three top-tether hooks and adjustable air vents. Available in the top-spec variants are heated seats and rear USB ports.

Engine power and transmission

Under the hood,  the 2022 Subaru WRX has a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder boxer petrol engine. The engine delivers 202 kW of power and 350NM of torque. This is 5kw more than the power delivered in the previous model . the 2022 Subaru WRX  is available with a choice of a six-speed manual system for the sedans and a CVT in the wagons. According to Subaru, the CVT  allows faster gear selections than before and a downshift blipping control is also available. Not only that, but Subaru has also programme eights ‘ratios’ you can toggle between using the paddle shifters.

 However, the new Subaru WRX keeps the Subaru symmetrical all-wheel-drive system which helps send power to all four wheels.  A locking centre differential and a viscous limited-slip diff are available for the manual models. the CVT model versions are available with active torque vectoring systems.

On fuel consumption and economy, the Subaru wrx is rated at 9.9 litres / 100km for the manuals and 8.5litres for the CVT models.

Infotainment and connectivity features

All 2022 Subaru models come with an 11.6 touch screen infotainment touchscreen, vertically oriented on the dashboard. The infotainment system supports apple car play and android auto. Wireless Bluetooth pairing and a six-speaker stereo system are also available.

Safety and driver assistance features

All Subaru models come with a set of safety and driver assistance features standard and limited to both the manual and CVT models. Standard features include blind-spot monitoring, red cross-traffic alert and front side, curtain and driver’s knee airbags a front seat passenger cushion is also available in all WRX models.  However, the WRX CVT models gain;  autonomous emergency braking and steering, adaptive cruise control, and emergency lane-keep assistance with lane centring. also available is an intelligent speed limiter, traffic sign recognition and automatic high beam.  

Subaru WRX 2022 price

The base price of the WRX is $29,105. This is one of the most expensive entry prices in the compact car segment. The range-topping WRX GT starts at $41,895, making this Subaru more expensive than its competitors at the top of the model selection.
