The all-new updated Lexus RX for 2023 is in its fifth generation, and it has been a trailblazer for Lexus since its launch. The new Lexus RX has been revamped to deliver superior performance and comfort. The new RX is based on a new Toyota GA-K platform shared with the Highlander for 2023. As a result, the new model is 198 pounds lighter and has superior handling to the old model.
The new RX has a new set of powertrains, including a base gas engine and a handful of hybrid engines, which replaces the previous 3.5 litre V6 hybrid powertrain. A new F sports performance model version has also been added to the roster, which includes all-wheel drive as well. After reaching a 2.4-inch larger wheelbase, the new RX is expected to provide ample space for rear-seat passengers.
The 2023 Lexus RX model trim levels include; Standard, Premium, RX-first Premium+, Luxury, F SPORT Handling, and RX-first F SPORT Performance
Lexus RX Exterior
The all-new 2023 RX highlights the next generation of Lexus in every detail. A pair of gorgeous, jewel-like headlamps flank its expressive reworking of the trademark spindle grille up front. It has an exquisitely formed body that exudes power and grace. In the back, all-new Lexus badging and a distinctive LED Blade Taillamp will make this luxury SUV stand out.
Lexus RX Interior
The inside style of the newly remodelled Lexus RX is comparable to that of the Lexus NX. The Lexus RX 2023 interior colour is also available in six distinct shades. Red and brown aluminium trims, as well as bamboo and open-pore wood, are examples. A 14-inch high-resolution display is available, allowing for simple access to the Lexus interface and navigation.
Infotainment and connectivity
The newest Lexus infotainment system has a 14-inch touchscreen display. A Mark Levinson audio system is included with the Lexus Rx. This system has 21 speakers placed thoughtfully throughout the cabin and 1800 watts of power to improve the music experience.
Engine, power and transmission
Under the hood, Many four-cylinder engines are available to replace the 3.5-litre v6 engine seen in the previous Lexus RX350 and 450h. A base gas engine and three different hybrid variants are available for the RX. A 2.4-litre inline-four turbocharged engine powers the RX350. The 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque produced by this engine match those of the NX350. The front wheels can be driven by an eight-speed automatic transmission.
An all-wheel-drive system comes standard on the RX350H. But, it has a Toyota hybrid system under the hood that combines an inline-four with a normally aspirated 2.5 litres and electric motors. Its powertrain outperforms the v6 hybrid system in the previous model, generating 246 horsepower and averaging 33 mpg combined.
The Lexus RX450H+ model, which also includes a plugin hybrid system, is also available. Lexus hasn’t said much about it, but some reports say it will be powered by the same motor as the NX450h+.
The top-of-the-line RX500h F sports performance variant has also been added to the list. A turbocharged 2.4-litre inline-four gasoline engine paired with six-speed automated transmission power this RX variant. A larger powerful electric motor situated on the back axle is also included in this powertrain. This combo generates a total of 367 horsepower and 406-pound feet of torque.
