Except for the Toyota Prado, which is the best-selling competitor, the Isuzu mu-X SUV consistently outsells most of its rivals. New active safety measures and cutting-edge interior technologies are now available in the completely redesigned mu-X. Additionally, the 3.0-litre diesel engine in the youth-oriented Isuzu mu-X offers a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes, a spacious cabin with up to seven passengers, and a competitive price. To differentiate itself from some family SUVs, the body-on-frame Isuzu mu-X wagon also offers part-time 4×4 and low range. As a result, the mu-X can truly travel off-road.

Engine, Power, Transmission
Under the hood, the Isuzu mu-X packs either a 1.9-litre or a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The mu-X, like its main competitors, the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest, foregoes leaf springs in the rear in favour of softer coils but otherwise is mechanically identical to its pickup truck counterparts. The five-seat wagon, which is available in rear- or four-wheel drive configurations for $47,900 mu-X LS-M (4X2) and $65,900 mu-X LS-T (4X4) models, also has a third row of seats, allowing a total of seven people to ride aboard.
