2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Specs and prices

The Hyundai Santa Fe is one of the most popular crossovers in many countries. The Korean build comes as a 5 or 7-seater crossover. It’s slightly larger than the Tucson built by the same automaker. The few units we’ve come across around are aesthetically appealing and look capable. Today let’s check what the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe offers in terms of practicality and how it stacks up against competitors in the crossover family.

A full panoramic sunroof is one of the features that will amaze any car buyer. Xenon headlights and daytime running lights rhyme with the new grille making the car an absolute head-turner. 18-Inch wheels are standard, but the car can wear 19-inch wheels. LED taillights and the rear spoiler complete the exterior design.

Interior

A leather-upholstered interior is standard in all trims. While a few crossovers offer a third-row seat, it’s available in 2022 Santa Fe, though it feels cramped for tall passengers. When the 3rd row is in use, don’t expect much cargo space.

The extra seats make sense when the occupants are children, and of course, you ain’t moving around with luggage. When it is lowered, there is plenty of space, almost similar to the segment leader in boot space, the Honda CRV.

Both engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with a manual mode. Unfortunately, a manual transmission system is not available The unit comes with a front-wheel-drive, but an all-wheel-drive variant is also available.

On the road handling

The 2.2l diesel engine propels the car from 0- 100km/h in 9 seconds. Handles like a sports car and doesn’t feel short of power. Its effortless, accurate steering and superb handling combo make its driving dynamics one of the best in the segment. It corners quite well, and the braking response is on point when called upon. The average fuel consumption is in the range of 11-13km/l, which is quite impressive for an AWD car. As aforementioned, the petrol variant could return worse figures. The car isn’t much equipped for off-road adventures despite the AWD feature.
