Recently Subaru revealed its first all-electric compact SUV, the 2023 Subaru Solterra EV. This EV is a result of Subaru and Toyota teaming up and co-developed a platform for this eV SUV. The Solterra shares a lot of features with Toyota’s recently revealed all-electric SUV the BZ4X EV. Despite that, it manages to distinguish itself from the Toyota BZ4X, thanks to Subaru’s innovative equipment list. The Solterra’s entire package is a great blend of looks, functionality, and performance, with Subaru’s exceptional technological brilliance lending it its own distinct personality. Here is everything we know about the 2023 Subaru Solterra EV styling, power, interior features and infotainment.

Subaru Solterra EV Styling

Despite looking similar to the BZ4X, there are some differences when it comes to the styling. The 2023 Subaru Solterra EV features a more closed off front end. Not only that it also has a unique front apron and headlight layout and a different placement of the brand badges.

Engine, power and transmission

Being an all-electric compact SUV, the Subaru Solterra features a battery pack and a pair of electric motors mounted on the front and rear axles. An output of 215Hp is all you get from the electric motors combined. Not only that, when fully charged the all-electric compact SUV can drive up to 285miles. The Solterra features three different driving modes with different power deployed to each one of them, this is Eco, normal and power. However, an x mode is also expected which is intended to control the traction to each wheel during slippery conditions or uneven terrain drives.

Subaru Solterra EV interior

The interior of the 2023 Subaru Solterra EV appears to have a high-mounted digital gauge cluster, a large touchscreen for the infotainment system, and an elevated centre console with what appears to be a rotary shift mechanism. The inside appears to be light and airy due to the steep windscreen, big side glass, and panoramic sunroof. A pleasing look is also enhanced by the use of a variety of appealing textures throughout. The numerous storage compartments, particularly the huge bin under the centre console, should make the Solterra a useful travel companion.
