2023 Subaru Outback Specs and prices detailed

Subaru’s new generation outback has received new features as well as a new special edition variant. But at a higher price. Black napa leather-accented upholstery, heated front and outboard rear seats, satellite navigation, and a hands-free power tailgate are among the other features. The entire 2023 Subaru outback lineup gets a new seatback pocket design and a sapphire blue pearl colour option that replaces dark blue pearl. The entry-level Outback AWD, on the other hand, gets black centre caps for its 18-inch wheels, while the top-tier AWD touring gets ventilated front seats and an extending driver thigh support.

Subaru Outback Exterior

A bold new face is dominated by a large grille flanked by angular headlight graphics, with a subtle blend of hard geometric shapes and softer curves. throughout the rest of the car. The large six-sided grille is sandwiched between angry tapering headlights, with a tough-looking satin black bumper separating it from another large air intake beneath. The theme is continued with tough wheel arch mouldings and chunky plastic cladding protecting the rocker panels. Thick roof rail mouldings are also available to increase the car’s visual height.

Jagged tail lights echo the c-shaped LED pattern of the details upfront. A large spoiler sits on top of the rear door to effectively lengthen the roof and improve aero performance.

Engine, Power and Transmission

The 2023 Subaru Outback lineup includes a choice of flat four-cylinder engines. A 2.5-litre engine with 182 horsepower is standard, and a turbocharged 2.4-litre engine with 260 horsepower is optional. Both are mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission that simulates an 8-speed gearbox in order to reduce irritating engine drones. The wagon can easily navigate inclement weather and even muddy rotted roads thanks to 8.7 inches of ground clearance and all-wheel drive. Choose the wilderness model for maximum off-road capability, as it has 9.5 inches of ground clearance and a beefed-up suspension skid plate to protect its underside. It also has a drive mode selector with snow and mud modes.

The  EPA estimates the standard outback will earn 26 miles per gallon in the city and 33 on the highway.  For the turbocharged version, is a significant dip in efficiency with ratings of 23 miles per gallon city and 30 highways.

Subaru Outback Interior

Aside from the base model, every outback has dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and USB ports. The 2023 Subaru Outback also has a more spacious back seat, with 1.4 inches more legroom than the previous generation.

Infotainment and connectivity features

The base Subaru Outback comes with two 7.0-inch touchscreens, but the rest of the models come with a massive 11.6-inch vertically mounted touchscreen. The large screen, in addition to large touch icons and fast response times, includes a rotary volume and tuning knob, as well as some physical buttons for climate settings, making them easier to use. Built-in navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless device charging are optional, but Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration is standard. The top-tier Limited and Touring trim levels include a Harman/Kardon audio system with 12 speakers and 576 watts.
