The all-new updated Lexus RX for 2023 is in its fifth generation, and it has been a trailblazer for Lexus since its launch. The new Lexus RX has been revamped to deliver superior performance and comfort. The new RX is based on a new Toyota GA-K platform shared with the Highlander for 2023. As a result, the new model is 198 pounds lighter and has superior handling to the old model. The new RX has a new set of powertrains, including a base gas engine and a handful of hybrid engines, which replaces the previous 3.5 litre V6 hybrid powertrain. A new F sports performance model version has also been added to the roster, which includes all-wheel drive as well. After reaching a 2.4-inch larger wheelbase, the new RX is expected to provide ample space for rear-seat passengers.

The 2023 Lexus RX model trim levels include; Standard, Premium, RX-first Premium+, Luxury, F SPORT Handling, and RX-first F SPORT Performance

The all-new 2023 RX highlights the next generation of Lexus in every detail. A pair of gorgeous, jewel-like headlamps flank its expressive reworking of the trademark spindle grille up front. It has an exquisitely formed body that exudes power and grace. In the back, all-new Lexus badging and a distinctive LED Blade Taillamp will make this luxury SUV stand out.

Engine, power and transmission

A variety of four-cylinder engines replaces the preceding Lexus RX350 and 450h’s 3.5-litre v6 engine. The RX’s powertrains include a base model gas engine and three distinct hybrid models. The RX350 has a 2.4-litre turbocharged inline-four engine under the hood. This engine produces 275 horsepower and 317-pound feet of torque, identical to the NX350. An eight-speed automatic transmission drives either the front or front wheels.

The RX350H is equipped with an all-wheel-drive system as standard. Under the hood, however, it features a Toyota hybrid system with a normally aspirated 2.5-litre inline-four and electric motors. This powertrain produces 246 horsepower and gets an estimated 33 mpg combined, which is significantly better than the previous model’s v6 hybrid system.

The Lexus rx450H+ model, which also includes a plugin hybrid system, is also available. Lexus hasn’t said much about it, but some reports say it will be powered by the same motor as the NX450h+.

The top-of-the-line RX500h F sports performance variant has also been added to the list. A turbocharged 2.4-litre inline-four gasoline engine paired to six-speed automated transmission power this RX variant. A larger powerful electric motor situated on the back axle is also included in this powertrain. This combo generates a total of 367 horsepower and 406-pound feet of torque.

Infotainment and connectivity

A 14-inch touch screen display controls the latest Lexus infotainment system. The Lexus Rx comes with a Mark Levinson audio system. This system includes 1800 watts of power and 21 speakers strategically placed throughout the cabin to create a better music experience.
