Despite having a fresh new look, the iconic Mustang muscle vehicle still has all of its distinguishing stylistic cues from the most recent generation. It still has its petrol-powered engines, including the renowned 5.0-litre V8, despite the world becoming more electrified. Although there are fewer coupes on the market now than there previously were, the 2023 ford mustang still has some formidable rivals, including the BMW 2 Series Coupe, Toyota Supra and GT86, Audi TT, and Ford’s own Mustang Mach-E, which is Ford’s only all-electric vehicle.

2023 Ford Mustang Exterior

Looking at the Exterior, the 2023 ford mustang will be recognizable to aficionados of the current model, its style has been skilfully updated to give it a whole new appearance. The design was influenced by heritage, according to Ford executives, who claim they gave it a contemporary edge with the expectation that it will appeal to the most Mustang customers to date.

The new Mustang has a more striking appearance thanks to its meaner and moodier front end. Its horizontal brow is lower and works in conjunction with the new LED headlights to mimic the original 1960s design. The Mustang’s massive, three-section bonnet is another defining feature.

The new Ford Mustang lineup has three models, each of which has a distinctive front-end design. The base 2023 ford mustang GT model has a more pronounced front splitter, wider grille apertures, and bonnet vents. The redesigned Ford Mustang sports enlarged rear haunches, a shorter rear overhang, and an expanded deck with “edgy” tri-bar lighting. An upswept rear diffuser, which improves aerodynamic balance, is a feature that is absent from vintage 1960s Mustangs.

There will be 12 different colour options for the new Ford Mustang, including three brand-new shades: Blue Ember, Vapor Blue, and Yellow Splash. Additionally, the brake callipers with the Mustang name come in either red or black. Both are branded with the Mustang logo.

2023 Ford Mustang Interior

The 2023 Ford mustang interior is designed with the driver in mind. According to the manufacturer, it “combines the finest of history, present, and future.” A more open-plan design with dual screens encased in a single piece of glass has taken the place of the vintage double-brow upper dashboard. The driver is presented with a 12.4-inch fully customizable instrument cluster that has many different display options, including retro-style Mustang gauges.

Infotainment and connectivity features

The main touchscreen, a 13.2-inch stack running Ford Sync 4 infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connection, is located in the centre of the vehicle. According to Ford, “We knew what customers wanted and developed the most digital Mustang ever while preserving the crucial driver-focused cockpit.”

Engine, Power and Transmission

The traditional 5.0-litre V8, now in its fourth iteration, is the only powerplant confirmed for the next Ford Mustang thus far. With selectable drive modes, Mustang owners will be able to optimize performance “from their favourite highways to their local track.” It will be available with both manual and automatic gearboxes.

Up to six drive modes—all of which, according to Ford, are “interactive and customisable”—are available. There are five of these: Normal, Sport, Slippery, Drag, Track, and a custom setting. When a mode is selected, the digital instrument panel’s high-fidelity graphics “bring the mode to life.”

2023 Ford mustang Dark Horse

Ford has additionally advanced matters with the release of the Mustang Dark Horse version. This 5.0-litre V8-powered vehicle is described as “the most track-ready, naturally-aspirated Mustang ever, pushing Mustang’s comeback to worldwide motorsport” and has better suspension and aerodynamics. More information on the latter will be provided, including involvement in GT3, GT4, and NASCAR racing.

The Dark Horse has a higher-output 5.0-litre V8 engine (Ford isn’t yet disclosing power numbers), dual throttle-body intakes, and, as part of the standard Performance Package, an auxiliary engine oil cooler, gearbox oil cooler, Torsen limited-slip differential, and more potent cooling fans.

The Ford Mustang Dark Horse boasts a unique chassis tuning in addition to modified front dampers, bigger rear anti-roll bars, a rear K-brace, 19-inch Brembo front brakes, Pirelli P Zero PZ4 tires, and MagneRide active suspension. Ford means business, that much is obvious. There is even an electrical drift brake.

The Performance Pack is another standard feature of the Ford Mustang GT. The Active Valve Exhaust, Sport Limited-Slip Differential, Brembo brakes, and 19-inch alloy wheels are all included. One option for suspension is MagneRide.
