Nissan has been dropping hints about a potential next-generation Nissan GTR sports car for almost a decade. The automaker has even gone as far as to provide its followers with a 2020 vision Gran Turismo idea that was actually created for a video game series. After much anticipation, Nissan has officially unveiled the 2022 Nissan GT-R, an iconic supercar. It is offered in five model variations, two of which are special editions—the new T-spec and Nismo SV.

Regrettably, the 2022 Nissan GT-R supercar is the last model to carry the GTR name. Nissan made the decision to include the new GTR T-spec and Nismo SV edition in order to say goodbye to the icon as it signals the end of the road.

2022 Nissan GT-R Engine

Under the hood, A 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine powers each and every 2022 Nissan GT-R model. Unexpectedly, depending on the model trim, the output varies. The turbocharged v6 engine for the two Nismo models produces 441 kW of power and 652 nm of torque. The VR38DETT engine is exclusively configured to produce 419kw and 632NM of torque in the premium, premium luxury, and T-spec variants.

2022 GT-R specs and features

Stepping inside The 2022 GT-R  interior,  leather-accented seats, heated front seats, an 8.0-inch multimedia touchscreen with satellite navigation, an 11-speaker Bose sound system and a push-button start are all you get as standard.

The GTR Squad’s leader is The Nismo SV, nevertheless. Almost all of the performance specs are included. The Nismo SV features a clear-coated carbon-fiber bonnet that decreases its weight by 100 kg, so let’s start there. You only get an Alcantara steering wheel and an interior with a red accent. Together with the front and rear bumpers, rear spoilers, and the boot, it also has carbon fiber. The Nismo SV has carbon-ceramic, one-of-a-kind 20-inch Rays aluminum forged wheels with red detailing, making it the leader of the crew. It also has 410/390 mm front and rear Brembo brakes.

For the Premium Luxury version, unique semi-aniline leather on the seats, steering wheel, gear shifter, dashboard, and door trims are available.

Last but not least, the 2022 Nissan GT-R T-spec version is like a combo of both the Nismo and the premium versions and is also available in two iconic exterior colors – Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple. Its uniqueness also starts from having larger brakes and a carbon-fiber spoiler all the way to its gold-colored 20-inch wheels, dark green interior, and quilt-stitched Alcantara roof lining.
