Ford has unveiled the 2022 Ford Ranger pickup truck, the latest model. It has contemporary tech features, a strong exterior style, and a selection of diesel engines, including a new V6 powertrain.
There will be five model trim levels available for the 2022 Ford Ranger, including the Ford XL, XLS, XLT, sport, and Wildtrak grades. This will come in pick-up truck styling for single, super, and dual cabs. But the ranger raptor will soon join the roster, and the ranger sport will start off as a full-time option.
Ford ranger styling
The 2022 Ford ranger’s exterior styling gives it a bold look. This starts from the front end where it features a new grille, and c – shaped LED headlights and wheel arches. The rear end packs taillights with the same styling as the headlights while for the first time matrix LED will be available.
The wheelbase has also been extended by 50mm to increase more space for the three passengers at the back. Not only that but the rear end has also been increased by 50 mm giving the ford ranger a big truck bed that can fit full building plywood.
The appearance (especially at the front) matches Ford’s current North American F-Series full-sized truck philosophy. But the wider stance achieved by the pushed-out tracks results in a shorter front overhang and much improved off-road and on-road performance.
Engine, Power, and Transmission
There will be three engine choices for the Ford Ranger. a 3.0-litre turbo V6 diesel engine, a single turbo and twin-turbo 2.0-litre diesel inline-four engines. The six-speed automatic or manual gearbox system will be combined with the 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel engine. The 10-speed automatic transmission is combined with the 2.0 twin-turbo engine. The engine’s power output figures, though, haven’t been made public yet; we’ll let you know as soon as they are. Two different four-wheel-drive systems, an electronic shift-on-the-fly system, or a full-time 4×4 system are also options.
Ford ranger Interior and Infotainment features
Compared to the outgoing models, the interior of the 2022 Ranger is entirely upgraded, opulent, and packed with cutting-edge technology features. The new ranger provides plenty of room for the passengers and takes good care of them. High-quality soft-touch materials were used to construct the inside, and the steering wheel has a newer appearance. A fully digital instrument panel is located behind the steering wheel. The centre of the dash is well-fitted with a portrait-styled touchscreen display that, depending on the model, measures either 10.1 inches or 12 inches. The new Ford Sync 4 operating system powers the infotainment system.
