If you have followed a little bit of history about the “ti” badge, of course, you already know it is a special one for BMW. It stands for Turismo Internazionale which was a badge found in Many BMW awesome cars. Do you recall the BMW 2002 “ti”?. It’s one of BMW’s greatest cars that wore the badge. Looking at the 128ti, it has the same aggressive looks like the m135i. However, it retains the same front, rear bumper and side skirts like the M performance cars. On the side skirts and near the rear wheels you can find red “ti” badges too. Additionally, the red accent in the front and rear air vents, side skirts makes the BMW 128ti even more attractive.
Under the bonnet, the 2021 BMW 128ti hot hatch packs a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The engine is also paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive system. Apparently, there is no manual transmission option for this hot hatch. The turbocharged four-cylinder engine powers out 265 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The numbers aren’t that bad for such a small hatch right?.
In comparison with the BMW m135i, the 128ti packs less power. However it has the same M Sport suspensions which have been tuned specifically for its hot hatch. Additionally, it also boasts a model-specific steering tuning which feels like a win for this hot 128ti hatch. The hot hatch is said to be lighter in weight which measures 85kg less than its sibling. Additional features include a 10mm drop in ride height, stiffer anti-roll bars, springs and shocks.
Making the 128ti even hotter, is the M sport red brake callipers that which the 135i also uses. This results to the 128ti hot hatch having four-piston mono-block callipers in the front and single-piston callipers at the back.
