Acura is adding the new 2025 Acura ADX to its lineup of SUVs. When it goes on sale early next year, the ADX, which sits beneath the slightly bigger RDX, will have a little turbocharged engine, a stylish design, and a high-end cockpit.
Exterior Styling
The ADX appears to be a smaller version of the RDX or MDX, which is not a terrible thing. It features the “frameless” Diamond Pentagon grille up front and the brand’s iconic Chicane LED daytime running lights. The base model comes with a set of 18-inch wheels, but the A-Spec and A-Spec Advance variants have the option of 19-inch wheels.
Interior Features
Upgrades to the ADX A-Spec include Ultrasuede seats, a panoramic moonroof, ventilated front seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and more.
The Advance package for the ADX A-Spec adds a 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, Google Built-In with Alexa, a 12-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, and even a heated steering wheel.
Compact Sizing and Cargo Space
In terms of size, the ADX is slightly smaller than the RDX all around. It is 185.8 inches long and 63.8 inches tall, which is slightly longer than the Honda HR-V on which it is based. The RDX measures 187.4 inches long and 65.7 inches tall.
Despite its small size, the ADX provides a decent 22.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and 55.1 cubic feet with the first row folded flat. The RDX has 29.5 cubes behind the second row and 58.9 with it flat.
Engine and Driving Performance
A 1.5-liter four-cylinder VTEC turbocharged engine powers the vehicle. Although Acura doesn’t specify its power output, one might anticipate it to be about 200 horsepower. It comes with a standard front-wheel drive system and a “sport-tuned” continuously variable transmission. An optional all-wheel-drive system can transfer up to 50% of the torque to the back wheels.
Snow, Comfort, Normal, and Sport are the four standard driving modes offered by Acura. The top trim level also has an Individual mode.
Technology and Safety
Each Acura ADX has a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9.0-inch center touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Thankfully, there isn’t a touchpad.
Every ADX includes the brand’s suite of AcuraWatch active safety devices as well as a wireless phone charger and 5G wi-fi access. This covers features like lane-keep assistance, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and more.
Pricing and Release
Acura hasn’t announced full pricing details, but the automaker says the 2025 Acura ADX will start in the mid-$30,000 range when it goes on sale early next year.
Compare that to the 2025 RDX, which starts at $46,050, and the new Acura ADX could undercut its big brother by nearly $10,000.
