The Toyota Corolla hybrid enters the 2023 model year as a thoroughly upgraded model. The Corolla hybrid now offers a choice of five model grades compared to its previous generation which offered only one. Not only that, It now debuts with a more powerful hybrid system and an available electronic on-demand all-wheel drive system. The 2023 Corolla hybrid also gains new safety and driver assistance features and multimedia systems, updated styling, and new paint colours.
On the 2023 Corolla sedans exterior, it features a new front fascia styling that varies across grades. All of its model Trims come with standard LED daytime running lights. Starting off with the LE model adds an updated rear bumper design while the sporty SE while XSE feature a new set of 18-inch gloss graphite-coloured alloy wheels. The revised look offers a sporty look for the SE and XSE gas models, which feature a glossy black mesh pattern lower grille, more sculptural front fascia, and a new rear sport Diffuser. These sports grades also feature new LED headlights that are more reminiscent of the eyes of a bird of prey.
Stepping inside, the next-generation Toyota audio multimedia equips all 2023 Corolla Hybrid models with an 8-inch high-resolution touchscreen. The new infotainment system offers standard Wireless Apple car-play and Android Auto compatibility. Also standard on all models is the addition of two reset USBC ports for a total of four in the car. the sporty SE models gain new common smart key enhanced sport driving mode tuning and red interior accents replacing blue.
Under the bonnet, all 2023 Corolla Hybrid models now feature a more powerful Toyota hybrid system. As before, the hybrid system consists of a 1.8 litre Atkinson cycle four-cylinder gas engine paired with two electric motor generators. However, the revised hybrid system boosts output to 134 horsepower up from 121, and 156-pound feet of torque up from 146 compared to the previous hybrid setup.
In terms of EPA rating, the revised power train has an estimated combined fuel economy of 47 miles per gallon. Not only that the upgraded hybrid system is said to improve the 2023 Toyota corolla hybrid acceleration and mid-range power.
The starting price of the 2023 Toyota Corolla hybrid is $23,895, which is 1250 dollars less than the previous model. The starting price for the other 2023 Corolla models has increased by $2315.
