A new bespoke 2021 Toyota supra GR with a two-piece detachable Targa top was recently unveiled by Toyota. This was mainly constructed for the SEMA aftermarket trade event that was held virtually earlier this year. With an open Targa piece from that time, the sport’s top pays homage to the MK4 supra. The new roof made of composite material is manually removed, and when not in use, it is intended to be kept in the trunk of the vehicle. Sadly, there was only one produced, and it was a project created for the SEMA trade show.
The customized 2021 Toyota supra GR follows the same design cues in terms of its body package, wings, and wheels. There is only one difference: It has an open top. The custom gr supra, which is based on the historical edition displayed last year, pays homage to the MKIv A80 from the 1990s with its rounded taillight inserts and basket-handle rear wing. Because of the additional suspensions, the sports top supra also sits three inches lower. Moreover, it has large Brembo brakes and 19-inch HRE wheels.
Under the hood, there is only a 3.0-liter inline-six engine with a factory-modified turbo. The 3.0 inline-six turbocharged engine from BMW produces 382 horsepower and a staggering 368 pound-feet of torque. The statistics for the Toyota sports vehicle aren’t so horrible, right? Unexpectedly, the 2021 Toyota supra is significantly more potent than the 2020 model, which boasts 47 horsepower and 3 pound-feet less torque. Also claimed for the new GR Supra is a 0-100km/h time of under 3.8 seconds.
According to rumors, Toyota, unfortunately, acknowledged that there is only one of these sports tops, and there are currently no plans to produce this supra’s variant. Driving would be significantly enhanced by a manual Toyota supra with an open top. The supra is a favorite among automobile fans, therefore it would truly be a dream come true.
